To further study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, from 15th to 17th November, the “Science and Technology Innovation of China” Forum for Aerospace Empowerment to support the Innovation of the sea industry was held in Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, with the theme of “Steeping into the Starry Sea--Aerospace Empowerment to boost the deep-sea Industry, Collaborative Development and Innovation”. The forum was hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and organized by the Chinese Society of Astronautics, with the support of Nanhai Institute of Harbin Engineering University, Hainan Institute of Zhejiang University and other units. There were five sub-forums on marine engineering and technology, cross-domain development, marine satellite remote sensing, marine satellite communication, and public science and culture development. More than 100 representatives from well-known universities, research institutions, and enterprises participated in the communication.

The sub-forum on “Marine Engineering and Technology” was held by Nanhai Institute of Harbin Engineering University. On 16th November, the sub-forum was successfully held to exchange and discuss issues related to the high-end technology and industrial development of deep-sea.

The forum was hosed by Li Zhichao, the executive deputy dean and the secretary of the CPC Nanhai Institute Committee.

The successful of this forum would promote the further integration of aerospace technology with marine technology and industry, accelerate cross-domain cooperation between aerospace and deep-sea, create a” highland” of science and innovation in Hainan.
